EDB Art Gallery – An open platform to showcase local creative talents

dia

Culture and creativity are the heartbeat of our societies, and the world need them more than ever.

In its action plan for 2023 -2024, EDB has elaborated a go-to-market strategy for local artists to grow their customer base and increase sales revenue. The plan consists of nurturing local visual artists, promote their work to new market niche, and expose them to the local and international market, collectors, media, and cultural institutions.

In the same endeavour, an art gallery was launched at the new office facilities of the EDB at Ebene to promote the artwork of local artists. As at date, some 60 artists have had the opportunity to showcase their artworks to an audience of foreign investors and other potential clients who visit EDB’s office premises on a daily basis. Such initiative has reinforced EDB’s commitment to contribute in its own way to the realization of specific SDGs and hence, leading the process of democratizing art in the country.

The EDB Art Gallery is an ongoing initiative that supports local artists, specially the younger generation, to forge a reputation in the creative art sector. The platform provided at the EDB Art Gallery ensures that local artists are provided with the right tools to express their creativity and uniqueness. Several group art exhibitions are on the agenda at the art gallery, providing long-term visibility to all local artists.

The Gallery is open to visitors from 9am to 5pm from Monday to Friday. A catalogue of the artworks is also available at https://edbmauritius.org/edb-art-gallery.
