Over the years, the Mauritius IFC has effectively addressed and overcome challenges and seized global opportunities, demonstrating resilience and adaptability. Collective efforts by both the public and private sectors aimed at building the jurisdiction's credibility and reputation and have seen, recently, the enactment of significant legislations, including the Virtual Asset and Initial Token Offerings Act (VAITOS) Act 2021 and the Variable Capital Company (VCC) Act 2022.
This process of consolidation has enabled Mauritius to carve out a niche despite the presence of more established financial centres and to attract reputable international financial institutions. EDB’s major efforts were to come up with a robust investment promotion strategy and reaching out to the global portfolio of investors, thus contributing to the depth of our asset management industry and providing a wider range of products and services.
Investment promotion events regrouping the whole financial services ecosystem, comprising ministries, government bodies, regulators, and the private sector operators, have been organised across 2023 in India, Egypt, USA, United Kingdom, and South Africa.
