Schemes: Investment/Premium Investor Certificate

In view of attracting companies engaged in innovative activities, a customized set of incentives was introduced in 2022 under new Premium Investor/ Investment Certificate.

Investment Certificate

The Investment Certificate, issued by the Economic Development Board (EDB) confers enterprises in the Digital Technology and Innovation sector to benefit from a set of incentives including 8 years tax holiday upon meeting the eligibility criteria. As at date, 28 Investment Certificates have been issued across various industries such as manufacturing, education and agro industry including 4 in the digital technology and innovation sector.

Premium Investor Certificate

The Premium Investor Certificate, issued by the Economic Development Board (EDB) allows companies investing at least Rs 500 million to benefit from bespoke incentives, upon recommendation of a Technical Committee and approval by the Minister of Finance, Economic Planning and development. The objectives of the scheme are to promote the emergence of pioneering industries, innovative sectors and first movers. Up to now 6 companies have been issued with the Premium Investor Certificate including one in the ICT sector.
